During the 1980's, for about ten years, John and I edited and published a Harman quarterly, entitled "Our Harman Heritage." Although this quarterly publication consisted of materials on the various spellings of the name Harman - i.e. Harman, Harmon, Herman, etc., much of it pertained to Zachariah Harman and his descendants. We traveled throughout the South meeting Harman-Harmon relatives and non-relatives, gathering materials. After finding proof of both our connection to Zachariah Harman, we decided to stop editing the quarterly publication and concentrate our research on just Zachariah Harman and his descendants. We now have over 25,000 names in our database of descendants and have a wonderful collection of pictures. We still enjoy traveling all over meeting relatives and talking about family and our research. Our home always has a welcome mat out for "kinfolks." We live in a large home north of Shreveport, Louisiana, in a little neighborhood called Blanchard. It's country! If any of you all are ever in the area, come by and stay awhile. We'll make sure the bedrooms are dusted, put the coffee pot on, or if you prefer, the iced tea, and enjoy your visit. So many have encouraged us to start a web page for Zachariah Harman family researchers. We thought this would be an interesting way for all of us to share our research with each other, maybe locate new sources of research, renew old acquaintances, meet new family members, and have fun doing it. We look forward to hearing from you. TREASURE IS NOT ALWAYS A FRIEND BUT A FRIEND IS ALWAYS A TREASURE |
