The purpose of this project is to promote and assist in the research on Zachariah and Rebecca (Petty) Harman and their many descendants and to try and find our ancestors beyond Zachariah Harman. It is difficult at times for one researcher to find the sources to document and prove a connection. Combining the efforts of many researchers will greatly improve and expand our capabilities to locating data and identifying new sources that will assist us in reaching our goal of documenting as many descendants or ancestors as possible. Whenever someone hits a dead-end in their family research, there is always someone else that holds the key to the answer. Sharing our research will help shed light on many of these dead-ends. We encourage all Harman/Harmon researchers to share their knowledge, their research and documentation. We welcome and encourage your comments and suggestions in making this project successful. Over the years many people, now deceased, have shared their information and materials with us. Without their assistance we would never have been able to prove our lineage back so far. This site will continually be under construction. We will be adding new information and materials almost daily to our genealogical files, but will not be uploading new files to the website until we have a large amount of information to put up. So it would probably be worthwhile to make contact with us to see if there is any new material. Currently in our files, we have over 30,000 descendants of Zachariah and Rebecca Harman that expands twelve generations or more. Of course, the last two or three generation have many living descendants. Not all descendants have firm documentation so if you can add additional information or documentation on any one of them, please do so by e-mailing us. We will be glad to assist anyone interested in learning more about our relatives. If you have materials that needs to be scanned into the project and you do not have a scanner, we will be glad to send you our snail mail address. That way you can just mail a copy to us and we will scan it in. Please share your material so that we all can see where our missing links are. We would like to say a special "Thank you" to Melinda (Harmon) Mathis for helping to get this new site up and running and continuing help whenever we holler . She has been very generous with her time and her knowledge. We again encourage everyone to let us know where you fit into the Harman/Harmon link or comment on the site. We would love to hear from you. Our e-mail address is harmanheritage@cmaaccess.com
